Mixing things up a little this month. This route involves a lot of cycleways throughout Sheffield. I've used most of these paths regularly when commuting. There are some nice spots along the way - the spider web bridge, a massive metal panda, 5 weirs walk, some canal paths and woodland sections, and some good graffiti in places.
It does go through some quite industrial areas but some of the cycle paths are rarely used so nice and smooth!
I have included Parkwood Springs mountain bike route at the end for anyone wanting to have a bit of fun.
Trying to plot the route when most of the sections have only been done by following my nose wasn't so easy, so use the route as a guide - it may be a little hard to follow at times. Especially around Don Valley Bowl as the route is forever changing it that area.
Difficulty – 3/10 – Mostly steady tarmac paths, a few hills and woodland/muddy sections.
All being well, I will be doing the route starting at 9am on the 20th March, anyone is welcome to join (not including Parkwood Springs), social pace. Fingers crossed for no massive storms!
Enjoy. Be nice. Say hi. Respect others.
